Traveler Jack-O Shandy review

Traveler Brewing Co. – Burlington, VT
ABV: 4.4%

CHUG Rating:
Chuggability: 8
Look folks, we’ve struggled through some of the biggest most badass beers on the planet, and let me say it right now, Jack-O Shandy is not one of them. This was like watching Tom Brady tossing it deep to Randy Moss against a 9 year old girls softball team. Read as “This was a wicked fahkin easy chug, ked”
How Much: 8
Any time you see a 6-pack of anything for $8.99 it’s worth picking up just to try it out. This is a great price for a decent fall seasonal, but paying an extra few bucks is worth it if it means hanging onto your dignity
Uhhh…Taste: 5
What the hell am I supposed to rate this? I don’t see Jack-O as a beer. They claim it’s a “Wheat Ale brewed with lemon peel with natural flavors and pumpkin added”…..but it’s a juice. It has a very artificial pumpkin flavor with a weak carbonation. It’s incredibly sweet, lacking in spices, and the hops are non-existent. You can taste the lemon, and at 4.4% this stuff is good for drinking for a long time, but don’t mistake this for a beer. Drink it for what it is, a juice that’ll get you drunk if you drink it for 10 hours straight
Gettability: 4
There is no mention of this brewery on our main source, but the Traveler website says they distribute to 28 states, and this juicebox is a seasonal, so according to our charts that makes it a 4

Overall Rating:   5.7
