Cinco de Sexty Chug-Off Tournament 2014

Yup, you’re seeing clearly, we sponsored our first party, and it was fucking epic. Don’t mind the fact that I’m drinking Coors Light, I needed them for my wizard stick (which was completed at the 15 beer mark around 10:00pm). I had a cup of craft beer with me on the side, so I didn’t spend the entire night only drinking silver bullets.

Bristol Brewing Co. Mass Transit Ale Beer Review

Mass Transit Ale
Bristol Brewing Company
Colorado Springs, CO
5.1% ABV

CHUG Rating:
Chuggability: 7
Nothing stopping you from drinking this one as fast as you like.
How Much: 5
I paid $8.99 for a 6-pack which isn’t bad, but there are plenty of other beers I’d rather have at that price point.

It takes a lot for an amber ale to impress me, and this one didn’t do it. If you love ambers then maybe try it, but it was pretty forgettable to me.

Year round offering only in Colorado.

Odell Loose Leaf Review

Loose Leaf
Odell Brewing Company
Fort Collins, CO
4.5% ABV

CHUG Rating:
Chuggability: 9
This is beer is made for chuggin, and that’s just what I’ll do. Perfect summer brew.
How Much: 7
I paid $9.99 for a 6-pack. It’s more than I generally like to pay for a beer under 5% ABV, but it was well worth it.
Uhhh…Taste: 8
Super light and easy drinking session ale, but enough hops to make it satisfying.

Seasonal offering in just 9 states.

Dry Dock Apricot Blonde Beer Review

Apricot Blonde
Dry Dock Brewing Company
Aurora, CO
5.1% ABV

CHUG Rating:
Chuggability: 8
Light and smooth and the fruitiness didn’t hamper the chugginess.
How Much: 7
I paid $8.99 for a 6-pack which seemed about right.
Uhhh…Taste: 6
I’m not a fruit beer fan at all, but this one was suprising good. At the brewery they do a half apricot/half IPA pour called the “Hopricot” and it is fantastic.

Limited distribution in Colorado only.

Ooooh, this goes down smooth. Be sure to bring an arsenal of these to your next chugging competition. Definitely a Beer Mile option.

How Much: 6
I paid $8.49 for a six-pack, which ended up feeling like a fair price.

Uhhh…Taste: 6.5
Pretty decent. It’s exactly what it says it is: a summer ale. Good for those hot days when you’re mowing the lawn or just chugging in your kitchen. I don’t mind having a few of these when the temperature goes up, but I basically wouldn’t touch it in the winter.

Gettability: 5
Alaskan Brewing distributes to around 15 states, all west of the Mississippi and it’s only available about a third of the year.
