Region: Mighty Mountain
Favorite: Odell holds the top two spots in the bracket with their IPA and their imperial IPA. Myrcenary is the 1-seed here based on rating, but might get hurt down the road as it’s not widely distributed and therefore is a bit of an unknown commodity to much of the country.
Upset Special: Oskar Blues Ten Fidy is probably under-seeded at 7, so the 2-seed has a tough draw here. Odell IPA is one my favorites, but it’s going up against a real beast here in the first round.
Cinderella: Oskar Blues Dale’s Pale Ale is a 3-seed here, so it’s not exactly a cinderella story, but I think it has what it takes to win the region and maybe even the whole tournament. It has tons of taste and is off the charts on value so don’t be surprised if it makes a deep run.
Region: Beach Beauties
Favorite: Dogfish Head 90-Minute IPA is the heavy favorite and number one overall seed. It was the first beer to get a 10 on taste in our 6-Second Beer Reviews and has few weaknesses. Going to take a big effort to knock it out.
Upset Special: Stone Ruination IPA is a tough out for a 7-seed. I think I still like Bell’s Two Hearted in the first round, but wouldn’t be suprised if Ruination IPA gets the win.
Cinderella: Probably have to go with Stone IPA here. Reasonable matchup in the first round and definitely has an outside shot at upsetting 90-Minute IPA in a potential 2nd-round matchup. Could make some noise in this bracket.
