Sierra Nevada Summerfest Lager Beer Review

Summerfest Lager
Sierra Nevada – Chico, CA
ABV: 5.0%

CHUG Rating:
Chuggability: 6
So here’s the deal. This looks like a tough start with an easy finish, right? Wrong. I threw it back like a ChugNation Veteran for sure, but did you hear the struggle in my voice on that rating? Struggle city, population: Homebrews32. It’s 5.0% but like Sierra Nevada always does, it’s got a hop or two in there that’ll give you a kick
How Much: 7
Summerfest isn’t going to break your wallet, I paid $10.49 for a 6-pack. City prices are inflated, but I don’t think they jacked the price on this bad boy. Pretty reasonable if you ask me
Uhhh…Taste: 7
Sierra Nevada is known for piling a solid hop content into each beer and for putting craft brewing back on the map back in the 80’s. Sticking true to that, Summerfest has a pretty solid citrusy, lemony hop character, but the hops aren’t overpowering. The malty medium body has a feel of a light wheaty pilsner; it’s fairly light and crisp in it’s finish. High carbonation with a bit of a peppery kick makes for a solid brew to be sipping at a cookout this summer
Gettability: 7
So it’s a Sierra Nevada, and that means it’s available everywhere you can find water and condoms. Being a seasonal knocks it down a few notches, so grab it while you can

Overall Rating:   7.6
