New Belgium Brewing 1554 Enlightened Ale Beer Review

CHUG Rating:
Chuggability:&#160 6
Went down awfully smooth for a dark(ish) beer. If there’s one redeeming characteristic of this beer, it’s pretty easy to chug.

How Much:&#160 4
It’s reasonably priced for craft beer at around $8.99 for a six-pack, but considering the other options out there I can safely say it won’t be visiting my fridge again.

Uhhh…Taste:&#160 5
It was sort of ok. Drinkable for sure, but I’d rather chug it than sip it. It just didn’t really have a good dominant flavor characteristic that came through. I could taste the roasted malts, but it just didn’t come together all that well.

Gettability:&#160 7
New Belgium distributes to over 30 states, so unless you’re in the northeast corner of the country, there’s a good chance you can find it.

Overall Rating:   4.5
