Undercover Investigation Shut-down Ale
Lagunitas Brewing Company
There aren’t too many beers that boast a 9.7% alcohol content that could be considered chuggable, but Undercover Investigation Ale is about as close as it comes. It’s hoppy enough to provide a mild bitter roadblock, but then sweet enough to open the floodgates for a nice easy drink.
How Much:  8
I paid $9.99 for a 6-pack, which felt a little like stealing. Any time I can pick up a beer this smooth and flavorful while tickling the soft underbelly of 10% ABV, I know I’ve found a winner. A delicious beer is always the goal, but getting drunk is real nice bonus.
Lagunitas has conjured up another winner here. It has that same beautiful bitter-crisp taste that reminds me of Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ with a bit of a sweet caramel balance reminiscent of Brown Shugga. This beer has massive hops, a smooth balance and enough alcohol to intoxicate a donkey. The only downfall of this beer is that it was only available in April.
Lagunitas Brewing Company distributes to 39 states, but Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale is only available one month out of the year.
