Anderson Valley Heelch O’Hops Beer Review

Heelch O’Hops Double IPA
Anderson Valley Brewing Co. – Boonville, CA
ABV: 8.6%

CHUG Rating:
Chuggability: 6
I’d give this a 7, but Heelch O’Hops is chiming in at 8.6% ABV so it should be approached a bit carefully, unless you’re a chugging professional. This beer caused a bit of hesitation because it’s so big, and so malty, I knew it was going to be a tough chug. Part of the reason I went outside for this was to speed up the chug…cold as shit out? Hell yeah, drink that beer and get inside

Hey, look, it’s a TeamChug Stamped beer! Oh, it comes in a 4-pack? Surprise surprise. I dropped $11.99 for this 4-pack. Not awful when it comes to 4-pack prices, but damn I’d love Heelch to come in a sixer

BOOM! Wow, I was shocked by this brew. You hear “Double IPA” and you think it’s going to be hopped to the high heavens. At 100 IBU, you bet your ass that it actually is. But, what’s nice about this brew is that it is VERY heavily malted, so you don’t get overloaded with hops. In fact, they almost disappear. It’s loaded with thick malty citrus caramel flavor, with a heavy consistency but not overpowering. Heelch O’Hops brings it all to the table, and we’ll slug it down everytime, delicious. Stamp it!
